Insight and Strategy
Featured - Market Study for Gallup, NM
Gallup is the largest city between Albuquerque and Flagstaff. The
City's population of about 20,000 is one of several challenges in
attracting new retalers. It is also surrounded by several reservations
with a large Native American population having low reported
Our analysis defined an extensive trade area with a very loyal
customer base. Even though income may be low, there are nearly
200,000 people in the trade area and sufficiently large numbers of
middle- and higher-income households to appeal to mainstream
retail chains. Additionally, Gallup has a substantial travel market
and more than 2,000 hotel rooms. Visitors contribute more than
$165 million to the annual market potential for dining alone.
Place Dynamics idenitified several retail chains suited to the
community and created a marketing piece to introduce them to the
development opportunity. We also advised the City on strategies it
could act upon to foster retail development.
